Laura Pennock
Laura is a fully certified Pilates instructor with a long history of studying movement and dance. A graduate of California Institute of The Arts, Laura began studying Pilates in 1983 while pursuing a career as a professional dancer in NYC. She has performed and taught movement both nationally and internationally. She was on staff at several schools including the United Nations School as a Creative Movement/ Dance instructor for children and adults. She has studied Pilates with various teachers and schools including: Deborah Lessen, Paula Macali, Doris Pasteur Hall, Lesley Powell, Shelly Studenburg and Cindy Green. She has studied Kinesthetic Anatomy and Anatomical Problem Solving with Irene Dowd, and Movement Impairment Syndromes with Shelly Sahrman.
Suzanne Mailhot
Suzanne is a certified PhysicalMind Pilates instructor she has taught at New York City's innovative and widely respected Movement's AFOOT under the guidance of master teachers Lesley Powell and Doris Pasteur-Hall. Her ongoing dedication and exploration of the healing arts are reflected in her work, through opening pathways and cultivating deeper connections. Suzanne's teaching emphasizes the restorative, balancing and invigorating aspects of movement. Suzanne combines Classical Repetoire with modern developments in Rehabilitative Science and Core Conditioning. She continues her studies in Clinical Massage through the Connecticut School of Massage Therapy and Body Reading under the guidance of Thomas Myers to bring her clients a holistic blend of fitness and mind/body awareness.

Megan Bascom
Megan is a fun and cheerful true Florida Native. She received her Pilates certification through the Kane School of Core Integration in NYC and her BA in Dance Studies focusing on Dance Injury and Prevention from the University of South Florida. She is newly transplanted to Connecticut where she and her husband reside and loves being this close to a beach! Megan has had a passion for anatomy for as long as she can remember and enjoys sharing her anatomy knowledge with clients to help them better understand exercises and how the body moves. Her experience as a dancer provides her with a detailed sense of movement, allowing her to facilitate a thorough movement experience and workout for each client. Megan spends her extra time teaching dance to kids and dancing professionally with a Brooklyn-based modern company that she has performed with since 2003.

Doris Pasteleur Hall - Now Taking appointments on Wed. for "Physical Therapy & Pilates Combine" is internationally known as a teacher's teacher. Her Pilates training began in the 1970's with Alan Herdman famed for opening the first Pilates studio in Britain and introducing Pilates to the UK. Subsequently, Doris came to New York to study with Romana Kryzanowska and then Carola Trier, who became her mentor.
Through her work with New York's Movements Afoot and Japan's Pilates Movements Space, Doris has been using her instincts as a Movement Educator, instructing teacher training programs and professional continuing education workshops. Naturally blending different movement modalities, she creates workshops that balance anatomy, observation, cueing and hands-on work

Kim
started studing Pilates while in college and after graduation received
her Reformer 1 Certification with Balanced Body and recently finished
her Mat Certification.
We are excited to have Kim join us at the
studio. You'll see her observing client and group sessions and
assisting us in the office.
Kim will also be teaching mat classes and will be available on Monday and Wednesdays for Apprentice Reformer sessions--

Lamont Thomas -New Tai Chi Easy Qigong
Retired from the U.B. history classroom in 2004, Lamont now directs his passion of Qi Cultivation to enhance health and wellness. He was certified at Omega by Dr. Roger Jahnke, OMD, of the Institute of Integral Qigong and Tai Chi, Santa Barbara, CA. Lao Shan, “Old Mountain,” is on the board of directors of the National Qigong Association.
Darryl Manning -New Tai Chi Easy Qigong
Darryl has practiced various types of Yoga and Pilates over the last 20 years. She began to study and reap the benefits of Tai Chi & Qigong in 2008. Darryl has studied with Lao Shan (Lamont Thomas) of Milford and Dr. Roger Jahnke, OMD. She is a Certified Facilitator of Tai Chi Easy, a method of Qigong and Tai Chi developed by Dr. Jahnke. She is also working with a home study program developed by Ken Cohen, OMD, “External Qi Healing”.
Leigh Scott - Feldenkrais Instructor
Leigh is a liscenced Massage Therapist, Health Consulant, and educator with over thirty years experience. A liscensed Feldenkrais instructor Leigh is now finishing her practitioner certification at the Feledkrais Institute in New York City. For more information go to www.leighmscott.com
Beth Furman - Yoga and Dance Instructor
Beth has studied yoga, dance and many other forms of movement, including Hip Hop and African dance, for over 30 years. She earned a Masters of Arts & Liberal Studies (MALS) from Wesleyan University and is also a certified yoga teacher. Beth currently teaches yoga to adults and children integrating hip hop and other forms of dance and cultural expression into the practice. She regularly has hip hop yoga parties at home with her kids Eli, Isabel and Ethan.
